Lampooning is mainly a 17th century passtime and was used extenisvely by Johnson and Swift.  In the 20th and 21st century the art has been continued by Private Eye which has brough many nefarious acts to public atention through lampoon and satire.  Now Luxor Eye will try and do the same.

We might not be as sharp witted as the writers of Private Eye but hopefully we can make you smile and bring home to you the seriousness of some of Luxor's problems with scams and sex tourists.  Egypt is a wonderful country and it deserves better treatment than some of its visitors give it.  

In one of our reports we mention that some boys had little future after being used by ignoble men, what we did not mention is the problem of AIDS but although many are in denial about AIDS in Egypt, it is being brought into Luxor by those who learn about the city through Gay Egypt and other Gay sites.  One of which offers gay tours.  It does not say if the highlight of each tour is a young boy in the bed.  It does not bear thinking about. 

This is a serious offence and we do not want to make light of it but through humour we may shame some sex tourists into mending their ways.
